GreenCo Summit 2026 concluded in New Delhi with a strong call for industry-led action to accelerate India’s transition toward a net-zero, resource-efficient and circular economy. Organized by the CII GreenCo Council at Bharat Mandapam, the summit brought together policymakers, corporate leaders, sustainability professionals, technology providers, financial institutions and environmental experts to drive collaboration on the country’s sustainability agenda.

Held under the theme “Scaling Net Zero and Circularity: Commitment, Innovation, Collaboration,” the event focused on practical pathways for industrial transformation through clean energy adoption, circular economy practices, sustainable supply chains and climate-resilient business strategies. Addressing the gathering, industry leaders emphasized that sustainability has evolved from a compliance requirement into a core business priority. They highlighted the growing need for companies to integrate environmental responsibility into their operations, products and value chains to strengthen resilience, improve competitiveness and create long-term economic value.

A key outcome of the summit was the launch of three major initiatives designed to support industrial decarbonization and accelerate sustainable manufacturing practices across sectors. The first initiative, the CII Material Circularity Guidelines and Certification, introduces a structured framework to help manufacturing facilities assess and improve material efficiency. The certification system is intended to encourage higher resource productivity, reduce reliance on virgin materials, strengthen supply chain resilience and promote measurable circular economy outcomes.

The second initiative, the CII Green Supply Chain Coalition for the Automotive Sector, creates a collaborative platform for automotive manufacturers and suppliers to advance sustainability across value chains. The coalition will focus on improving transparency, standardizing sustainability assessments, supporting data-driven decision-making and helping companies manage Scope 3 emissions while enhancing supplier capabilities.

The third initiative, the CII Heat Pump Alliance, aims to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient heat pump technologies across industries. The alliance will support thermal electrification, encourage deployment of advanced heat pump solutions, strengthen domestic manufacturing ecosystems and facilitate access to policy and financing mechanisms that support low-carbon industrial operations.

The summit also featured extensive discussions on industrial decarbonization, renewable energy integration, water stewardship, circular business models, emerging technologies and nature-based solutions. Experts highlighted the importance of scaling proven sustainability solutions and expanding access to innovative financing mechanisms to support green growth.

GreenCo’s sustainability movement continues to expand across India, with more than 1,600 companies from over 27 sectors participating in its frameworks and programmes. Through ratings, capacity-building initiatives and industry collaborations, participating organizations have reported significant progress in energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, water conservation, material optimization and greenhouse gas reduction.

The launch of the three new initiatives at GreenCo Summit 2026 marks a significant step toward building a more sustainable, competitive and future-ready industrial ecosystem, reinforcing the role of collaboration and innovation in achieving India’s long-term climate and development goals.
