Greaves Electric Mobility Limited (GEML), the electric mobility arm of Greaves Cotton Limited (GCL), has entered into a strategic partnership with Indofast Energy, a joint venture between Indian Oil and SUN Mobility, to enhance last-mile transport solutions. This collaboration focuses on B2B fleets and ride-sharing services, providing electric two-wheelers (e-2W) and energy solutions to meet the evolving demands of the sector.
The partnership introduces the Ampere Magnus SW.S, an electric scooter equipped with Indofast Energy’s battery-swapping technology. Designed for gig economy riders who travel over 100 kilometers daily, the scooter allows users to swap depleted batteries for fully charged ones at Indofast’s growing network of swapping stations. This solution aims to reduce vehicle downtime, lower operational costs, and increase overall efficiency, while promoting sustainable mobility—a core goal for both GEML and Indofast Energy.
The Ampere Magnus SW.S is powered by a 2.4 kW motor, capable of handling steep inclines and carrying heavy loads or a pillion rider. With a payload capacity of 151 kg, the scooter is engineered for heavy-duty use. It also features IoT-enabled technology, enhancing connectivity and supporting effective fleet management.
The partnership’s long-term goals include deploying over 50,000 vehicles within the next year through fleet operators and individual drivers, with the Ampere Magnus SW.S being made available through Ampere’s distribution network for both commercial fleets and gig economy workers. This collaboration further strengthens Greaves Electric Mobility’s position in the electric transportation sector, offering solutions that balance performance with environmental sustainability.
