Goyal Salt, a leading salt manufacturer, is set to expand its presence in both the western and eastern regions of India, with its newly established plant in Kutch nearing full production. The new facility is a key part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its operations and serve its growing customer base across the country.
The company currently works with over 60 distributors in northern markets and has recently appointed distributors in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Assam, and Odisha. With a reach of 5,000 retail outlets, Goyal Salt aims to expand its footprint and reach every household within the next five years.
Spanning 12 acres, the Gandhidham plant has an annual capacity of 450,000 tonnes and is currently in the trial phase, with full operations expected to begin by the end of January.
Pramesh Goyal, Managing Director of Goyal Salt, stated, “The Gandhidham facility brings us closer to key markets in the western and eastern parts of India, helping reduce logistics costs and improving delivery timelines for our customers. After establishing a strong presence in the North, we’re excited to replicate this success in the East and West. We are confident that our distributor network will play a vital role in driving growth in these regions.”
The company also has plans to expand into southern states in the near future, Goyal added. India ranks as the third-largest salt producer globally, and the Indian salt market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.8% from 2024 to 2029, with the premium salt segment forecast to see significant growth driven by rising urbanization and evolving consumer preferences.
Founded in 2010, Goyal Salt’s manufacturing facility is located in Nawa City, near the renowned Sambhar Lake. The company produces a variety of premium industrial and edible salts, including triple refined iodized salt, industrial salt, double-fortified salt, and triple refined half-dry salt, with a daily production capacity of 700 tonnes.
