Godrej Enterprises Group Collaborates with Italy’s Bisiach & Carru to Boost India’s Manufacturing Sector

The Tooling business of Godrej & Boyce, a part of the Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Italian automation specialist Bisiach & Carru (B&C) to manufacture advanced railway and aerospace equipment in India. This collaboration strengthens India’s manufacturing capabilities and aligns with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Initially, the focus will be on increasing local manufacturing content, with a roadmap to expand as capabilities grow.

This partnership comes at a crucial time in India’s industrial growth, complementing the country’s vision of self-reliance in key sectors. It will cater to the evolving needs of Indian Railways, metro projects, and the aerospace industry—critical pillars of the nation’s infrastructure and technological progress. As part of this collaboration, the companies will manufacture advanced equipment aimed at enhancing efficiency, precision, and automation in India’s railway and aerospace sectors. This includes robotic spot-welding systems, which improve production speed and accuracy, along with high-precision jigs and fixtures that ensure superior quality in railway coach manufacturing.

Additionally, the partnership will focus on specialized automation solutions tailored to meet India’s specific manufacturing needs, optimizing processes for better productivity. It will also introduce cutting-edge assembly machinery designed to meet international quality standards, reinforcing India’s position as a global manufacturing hub.
