Godrej Enterprises Group has announced the successful installation of its inaugural solar carport at a prominent IT company’s premises in Noida. Developed by the company’s energy solutions division, the project demonstrates a sustainable use of urban infrastructure for clean energy generation.

The carport spans 31,984 square meters and is fitted with 1,031 high-performance solar panels, capable of generating approximately 7.31 lakh units of electricity annually. This green initiative is expected to reduce carbon emissions by around 6 lakh kilograms each year—equivalent to planting more than 27,500 mature trees. In addition to providing shelter for 400 vehicles, the carport converts unused parking areas into productive renewable energy zones.

Commenting on the project, Raghavendra Mirji, Executive Vice President & Business Head, Energy Solutions at Godrej Enterprises, said, “With increasing urban density and limited space, infrastructure must be reimagined to be both intelligent and sustainable. This solar carport is a clear example of how we are building energy solutions that support urban energy demands while contributing to climate resilience.”

As metropolitan areas face limitations for traditional solar installations, carports are becoming a practical solution for businesses looking to adopt clean energy without the need for additional land. Godrej’s innovative design offers a blend of functionality and visual appeal, setting a new standard for integrating renewable energy into city infrastructure.
