Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL), a leading emerging markets FMCG company, has been ranked No. 1 globally in the Personal Products category on the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices 2025. This marks the first time GCPL has secured the top position on the globally respected sustainability benchmark.

The recognition follows GCPL’s strong performance in S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), where the company achieved a score of 89 out of 100 in the Personal Products category. The CSA evaluates more than 9,200 companies worldwide on environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance, making it one of the most comprehensive global sustainability benchmarks.

The Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices assess companies across a wide spectrum of sustainability criteria, including climate action, emission reductions, raw material sourcing, packaging management, water stewardship, product lifecycle management, labour practices, and responsible supply chains. GCPL’s ranking reflects its continued progress in embedding sustainability across operations, product development, and business strategy.

In addition to achieving the top ranking, GCPL has also been recognised by S&P Global for completing 10 consecutive years of participation in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment. The milestone highlights the company’s long-term commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in sustainability performance.

Commenting on the achievement, Sudhir Sitapati, Managing Director and CEO, Godrej Consumer Products Limited, said the recognition represents a significant milestone for the organisation.“Being ranked number one globally on the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices is a defining moment for GCPL. Our approach focuses on creating value for people and the planet alongside business growth. This recognition reflects the progress we have made in areas such as greener products, water positivity, climate action and energy efficiency. It also strengthens our commitment to continue raising the bar for ourselves and for the FMCG industry globally.”

Pakzan Dastoor, Head – Sustainability and CSR, Godrej Industries Group, highlighted the importance of sustained effort and accountability in driving the company’s sustainability journey. “This recognition is the outcome of a decade of consistency, discipline and purposeful action. Ten years of participation in the CSA reflects our commitment to measurable outcomes, transparency and continuous improvement.
