Godavari Biorefineries Ltd (GBL), a leading ethanol producer, has entered into a strategic licensing agreement with Catalyxx Inc., securing exclusive rights to use Catalyxx’s advanced technology for converting ethanol into biobutanol and other higher alcohols. This partnership enables GBL to leverage cutting-edge innovations for sustainable chemical production.
As part of this agreement, GBL will establish a state-of-the-art facility designed to produce 15,000 metric tonnes of biobutanol and other higher alcohols annually in its initial phase. The facility will eventually scale up to produce 30,000 tonnes, reinforcing GBL’s leadership in the bio-based chemicals market.
In a regulatory filing, GBL stated, “This milestone aligns with our vision to drive decarbonization and sustainability. By adopting Catalyxx’s technology, we are taking significant steps toward offering renewable and eco-friendly solutions to the global market.”
