Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC) has received a provisional ESG rating score of 77.7, corresponding to CareEdge-ESG 1, from CareEdge ESG Ratings Ltd. The rating was assigned following an independent evaluation that included site visits to GMDC’s operational assets and discussions with senior management at the corporate office between November 19 and 21, 2025.
According to the rating agency, the score places GMDC in the “Leadership” category for ESG risk management. The assessment covered the corporation’s governance practices, policy frameworks, disclosures, and performance across environmental, social, and governance parameters, based on both company-provided disclosures and publicly available information.
Commenting on the rating, Roopwant Singh, IAS, Managing Director of GMDC, said the assessment reflects the corporation’s focus on responsible growth supported by governance, environmental management, and social responsibility. GMDC stated that the rating supports its ongoing efforts to strengthen transparency, sustainable operations, and long-term stakeholder value.
