GK Energy has secured a ₹235.92 crore contract from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to supply and install 10,000 Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) across Maharashtra under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana. The project includes the design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP solar-powered agricultural water pumping systems. The initiative is aimed at expanding access to clean and reliable irrigation infrastructure, helping farmers reduce their dependence on conventional electricity and diesel-powered pumps.

With this latest award, the total value of orders secured by GK Energy from MSEDCL has reached ₹637.83 crore, including GST. The company said the project further strengthens its long-standing association with the state utility and reflects its growing role in supporting Maharashtra’s renewable energy and rural infrastructure programmes.

The deployment of solar-powered irrigation systems is expected to improve energy access for farmers while promoting sustainable agricultural practices. Government initiatives such as the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana are encouraging the adoption of renewable energy technologies in the agriculture sector by providing dependable irrigation solutions and reducing operating costs for farmers.

The project is scheduled to be completed within 60 days from the issuance of the work order or Notice to Proceed (NTP). The company will leverage its field execution network, logistics infrastructure and technology-driven operating model to ensure timely implementation across the state.

Commenting on the order, Gopal Kabra, Chairman and Managing Director of GK Energy, said the company has built a strong execution-focused renewable energy business by combining technology with an asset-light operating model. He noted that the company’s understanding of rural markets and its execution capabilities have enabled it to successfully deliver large-scale decentralised renewable energy projects while maintaining high standards of quality and operational efficiency.

He added that expanding access to clean energy for agriculture is essential for improving farm productivity, strengthening rural infrastructure and supporting India’s long-term energy security. The company remains committed to contributing to government-led initiatives that promote sustainable development and greater energy independence for farming communities.

As of March 2026, GK Energy had installed more than 140,000 renewable energy systems and commissioned over 617 MW of renewable energy capacity across India. The company operates in more than 7,500 villages and continues to expand its presence across solar-powered agricultural pumping systems, rooftop solar installations, distributed renewable energy infrastructure and other clean energy solutions.
