GH2 Solar Ltd has announced plans to establish a green hydrogen electrolyzer manufacturing facility in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, through a joint venture with South Korea’s Advanced Hydrogen Energy Solutions (AHES) Ltd. The plant, located in Piparsewa, Morena district, will start with an annual manufacturing capacity of 105 MW of electrolyzers, supported by a ₹157.5 crore Production Linked Incentive (PLI) subsidy awarded under SECI’s SIGHT program.
The total investment is pegged at ₹400 crore, with capacity expansion to 500 MW by 2030 and the addition of a 3 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) assembly line. This collaboration will bring AHES’s advanced alkaline electrolyzer technology to India, while GH2 Solar plans to diversify into PEM and other hydrogen generation systems.
The company has also tied up with UK-based Rhizome Energy to incorporate sustainable design principles and advanced engineering practices. Once operational, the facility is projected to create over 300 direct jobs in manufacturing, research, and operations, along with several hundred indirect employment opportunities across supply chain, logistics, and renewable energy services.
