Gestamp, a global leader in designing and manufacturing high-precision metal components for the automotive sector, has opened its second Gestamp Technology Institute (GTI) in Puebla, Mexico. This new facility builds on the success of the first GTI, launched in 2016 in Boroa, Spain, and further strengthens the company’s commitment to advancing technological development, knowledge sharing, and talent development.

The inauguration ceremony, held on February 10, was attended by Francisco J. Riberas, Executive Chairman of Gestamp, and Jaime Oropeza, Secretary of Economy and Tourism of the Puebla City Council, along with other key figures including Patricia Riberas (Chief Operational Excellence Officer), Luis Vega (Regional Director of Gestamp Mexico), Zulema Mateos (Corporate Director of Talent Management), and Mireia Arroyo (Corporate Director of Institutional Affairs, Communication and Marketing).

Francisco J. Riberas highlighted that the new GTI in Puebla is a significant step towards developing skilled technical talent, reinforcing the company’s leadership in automotive technology. “By combining innovation and expertise, we are investing in the future of mobility,” he said.

The new GTI aims to further establish Gestamp as a leader in automotive technology and innovation. The institute will continuously update its training programs to keep pace with the latest technological advances, following the model of the original GTI in Boroa.

The facility serves a dual purpose: attracting talented technical students from universities and educational institutions for specialized training in hot stamping, welding, tooling, and other key areas, as well as providing ongoing training for Gestamp employees in the region. The training will focus on the newest technologies in production processes, delivered through standardized internal programs and hands-on, experiential learning.
