Gensol Engineering Ltd. announced on Wednesday, September 11, that it has secured a project to establish India’s first Green Hydrogen Valley in Pune. The project will be developed in partnership with Matrix Gas & Renewables, a Green Hydrogen infrastructure developer and natural gas aggregator.
Matrix will be responsible for setting up the Green Hydrogen production plant on a Build Own and Operate model. The plant will supply Green Hydrogen to the specialty chemicals sector under a 20-year offtake agreement. The companies were chosen as the best bidders based on both technical and commercial evaluations through a competitive tender process.
The Green Hydrogen Valley initiative is being supported by the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) in Pune, which will provide a platform for Green Hydrogen generation, its applications, and research and development (R&D) facilities.
“We are committed to providing Green Hydrogen to the specialty chemicals sector in Pune around the clock to help develop the Green Hydrogen economy in India,” said Anmol Singh Jaggi, Managing Director of Gensol.
Both Gensol and Matrix share common promoters and plan to continue collaborating on Green Hydrogen projects and its derivatives, including Green Steel and Green Ammonia, Gensol added in its filing. Gensol Engineering’s stock closed 0.8% lower on Tuesday at ₹910.95.
