Gensol Engineering announced on Wednesday that it has won a contract to develop a 16-megawatt rooftop solar project for a prominent textile company in Madhya Pradesh. This latest contract, awarded under Gensol’s commercial and industrial (C&I) segment, marks a repeat order from the client. The project will be executed on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis, according to the company’s statement.
“Gensol Engineering has received a Letter of Award (LOA) for the execution of a 16 MWp turnkey EPC rooftop solar project from a leading textile company. This repeat order will be installed in Madhya Pradesh, with commissioning expected within six months,” the company said.
The project will feature high-efficiency bifacial solar modules, which are capable of capturing sunlight from both sides, enhancing energy output. Shilpa Urhekar, CEO of Solar EPC (India) at Gensol Engineering, noted, “Upon completion, this will be one of India’s largest rooftop solar projects, covering a significant rooftop area.”
