India-based Gensol Engineering announced on Wednesday its expansion into the United States, with the establishment of a subsidiary aimed at supplying over 2,000 MW of solar trackers annually by 2028. The new subsidiary, Scorpius Trackers Inc, will have its first office in California, strategically placing the company within one of the most active and innovative renewable energy markets in the world. Gensol Engineering highlighted this move as a significant step in its global growth strategy, leveraging its decade-long experience in the industry.
“With the launch of Scorpius Trackers Inc, Gensol Engineering marks its entry into the US market,” the company stated. “We are setting a target to supply more than 2,000 MW of solar trackers annually by 2028, building on our extensive experience and expertise.”
Gensol Engineering has already secured over 1,000 MW of contracted orders across key markets, including India, Africa, Japan, and the Middle East. The US solar tracker market, the largest globally, deploys more than 25,000 MW of trackers each year and is expanding rapidly, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) exceeding 20 percent, according to the company.
Based in Gujarat, Gensol Engineering is a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, specializing in solar power EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services and electric mobility solutions. This expansion into the US market underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its presence in key international markets and contributing to the global shift toward renewable energy.
