Genesys International Corporation, a prominent provider of cutting-edge mapping services, is reportedly in advanced negotiations to secure a substantial order valued between Rs 150-200 crore from two leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in India. According to sources familiar with the matter, the order involves the supply of AI-driven navigational maps and connected car solutions. The official announcement of this significant order is anticipated in the coming days.

One of the orders is expected to come from a major Asian automobile manufacturer, recognized for launching innovative products that incorporate advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS). These systems have received considerable attention and praise from consumers. The other order is likely to be placed by an Indian OEM that has recently gained traction in the market by leveraging ADAS to enhance the appeal of its new range of SUVs.

As these discussions are still confidential, the source who provided this information chose to remain anonymous. Efforts to obtain a comment from Genesys International went unanswered as of press time. The delivery of these AI-powered navigational maps is projected to take place over the next 2-3 years. Notably, in June 2024, Genesys International entered into a strategic partnership with NNG Technologies, a prominent player in the navigation and connected car technology space.

NNG’s clientele includes prestigious brands such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Renault, Ford, Mazda, Jaguar Land Rover, Harley-Davidson, and McLaren. Through this partnership, Genesys International plans to gradually engage with Indian automobile manufacturers, leveraging NNG’s expertise to enhance its offerings. The Indian market for navigational maps and connected car solutions is currently estimated to be worth around Rs 180-200 crore.

However, it is expected to grow significantly, reaching a valuation of Rs 500-600 crore within the next 3-4 years. Genesys International is determined to capture a substantial share of this rapidly expanding market in the automotive mapping sector. The growing adoption of smart technologies, such as intelligent speed assistance and ADAS, has created new opportunities for mapping companies.

These advanced systems provide drivers with crucial alerts related to speed limits, traffic signs, lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control, all of which rely heavily on detailed and accurate maps. Genesys International’s AI-powered maps are designed to produce high-definition (HD) maps that meticulously capture every aspect of the road environment, including elevation, road curvatures, lane markings, and road signs.

This level of precision is essential for the safe operation of autonomous vehicles, particularly in challenging conditions such as poor visibility, urban canyons, and areas where GPS signals are weak or absent. Detailed navigation maps that include elevation and road curvature information are especially critical for electric vehicles (EVs), where factors such as road gradients can significantly impact the vehicle’s range per charge.

By incorporating these advanced mapping tools, car manufacturers can more accurately predict the range of EVs across various terrains, thereby addressing range anxiety—a significant barrier to widespread EV adoption. Over the years, Genesys International has made substantial investments in developing its geo-content program. The company has undertaken one of the most extensive mapping exercises in India, covering approximately 3,000 towns and cities.

In total, Genesys has driven over 3 million kilometers and digitized India’s largest navigable road network, encompassing nearly 8.5 million kilometers. Beyond the automotive industry, Genesys International has experienced robust demand for its advanced location intelligence products across a variety of sectors, including solar energy, urban planning, real estate, disaster management, and land records.

The company’s financial performance has also reflected this growth, with revenue increasing to Rs 203 crore in FY24, up from Rs 187 crore in FY23. Additionally, the company’s profit rose to Rs 21.61 crore in FY24, compared to Rs 14.93 crore in the previous fiscal year.

Genesys International is a leading provider of advanced mapping and geospatial solutions, specializing in AI-powered navigational maps, connected car solutions, and location intelligence. With a focus on innovation, the company has mapped extensive road networks across India and serves diverse sectors including automotive, urban planning, and disaster management. Genesys is committed to driving technological advancements in geospatial content.
