Gebrüder Weiss Expands in the Southwest with New Phoenix Location

Global transport and logistics provider Gebrüder Weiss is strengthening its presence in the southwestern United States with the opening of a new facility in Phoenix, Arizona. The new location will offer air and sea freight services, customs clearance, and full and partial-load land transport, reinforcing the company’s growing network in North America.

As cross-border trade between the U.S. and Mexico continues to rise, Arizona plays a pivotal role in logistics, with Phoenix emerging as a key hub for shipments moving across the southern border. In 2023, trade between Arizona and Mexico reached nearly $20 billion. The new facility complements Gebrüder Weiss’ established presence in Texas, including locations in El Paso and Laredo, which specialize in cross-border transport.

“Our expansion into Phoenix strengthens our position in this economically vital region, offering our customers greater flexibility and ensuring more efficient and reliable supply chains,” said Mark McCullough, Country Manager for Gebrüder Weiss North America.

The company has been rapidly expanding its North American footprint, now operating 17 locations across the region. In addition to Phoenix, Gebrüder Weiss has recently launched a logistics terminal in Elgin, Illinois, and new branches in Miami, Denver, and Dallas. The company also acquired freight forwarder Cargo-Link in Salt Lake City earlier this year.

Headquartered in Lauterach, Austria, Gebrüder Weiss operates 180 company-owned locations worldwide, with a workforce of approximately 8,600 employees. In 2023, the company generated €2.46 billion in revenue. Known for its expertise in transport, logistics, and digital solutions, Gebrüder Weiss continues to integrate sustainability into its business practices, leveraging both digital innovation and operational excellence to meet evolving customer needs.
