GEBHARDT Intralogistics North America, a leading provider of automation and material handling systems, has unveiled plans to significantly expand its U.S.-based manufacturing operations. The company currently manufactures and assembles in Streetsboro, Ohio, and will add 39,732 square feet of new production space to the existing facility, increasing its total footprint to 110,013 square feet. This expansion will allow GEBHARDT to localize key automation technology manufacturing processes, strengthen supply chain resilience, and better serve its North American customer base.
The investment underscores GEBHARDT’s commitment to supporting U.S. manufacturing growth by reducing reliance on imported components from its global headquarters in Sinsheim, Germany. “Our goal is to deliver the highest-quality automation systems with faster delivery and local support,” said Juergen Conrad, CEO of GEBHARDT Intralogistics North America. “By producing more equipment domestically, we can cut freight costs and align with our customers who are reshoring production and investing in intralogistics infrastructure across the U.S.”
The expansion will replicate proven German manufacturing processes to maintain GEBHARDT’s high-quality standards. Ralf Buerkle, Chief Operating Officer of GEBHARDT Intralogistics North America, will oversee the rollout of these new production capabilities and manage the facility’s development in Streetsboro. Once operational, the site will serve as a strategic hub for manufacturing, assembly, and customer support across the continent.
