GE Aerospace announced on Tuesday that it has signed a five-year Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) agreement with the Indian Air Force (IAF) to provide long-term support for the T700-GE-701D engines powering the IAF’s fleet of AH-64E-I Apache helicopters. The contract will see GE Aerospace oversee the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) of the T700 engines and associated flight line parts, ensuring high engine availability for the Indian Air Force. The PBL solution aims to optimize engine sustainment processes, reduce turnaround times, and improve the Apache fleet’s operational readiness.

“We are proud to extend our partnership with the Indian Air Force through this PBL contract, reinforcing our commitment to providing dependable and advanced sustainment solutions for critical defense systems,” said Youngje Kim, Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific, Defense & Systems at GE Aerospace. “This agreement highlights GE Aerospace’s dedication to supporting the Indian Air Force’s mission preparedness by ensuring the T700 engines maintain peak performance,” he added.

The T700/CT7 family of engines, which powers both military and civilian aircraft, has been delivered to over 130 customers worldwide, accumulating around 130 million flight hours. The T700/CT7 engines have proven their reliability in the most demanding conditions, including combat environments like Iraq and Afghanistan.
