Garuda Aerospace Commits Rs 100 Crore to Establish Drone Hub in Andhra Pradesh

Drone manufacturer Garuda Aerospace has announced an investment of Rs 100 crore to set up a dedicated ‘Drone City’ in Andhra Pradesh. The planned facility, located in Orvakal village of Kurnool district, aims to become a center for drone advancements, driving research, attracting skilled professionals, and positioning India as a leader in drone technology, the company stated.

The announcement was made during a high-level discussion with Civil Aviation Minister Rama Mohan Naidu Ji. During the meeting, Garuda Aerospace’s founder and CEO, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, highlighted the company’s alignment with the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ initiative, its contribution to national progress, and its role in the ‘Namo Drone Didi’ program, which empowers women in rural areas through drone technology. The discussions also touched upon the company’s rapid growth in both domestic and international markets, reinforcing its vision of making India a key player in the global drone industry.

“The Drone City will serve as a center for innovation, driving advanced research, attracting the best minds, and positioning India at the forefront of drone advancements. This investment aligns with our broader vision of expanding globally, preparing for an IPO, and developing cutting-edge drone solutions to address critical challenges,” Jayaprakash stated.

Garuda Aerospace has already secured six approvals from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), including Type Certification and Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO) accreditations, further strengthening its leadership in the sector.
