S Mahesh Babu, the CEO of Switch Automotive Mobility Ltd, has announced his decision to step down from his position, effective August 31, 2025, to explore new opportunities outside the group. As part of the leadership transition, Ganesh Mani, the Chief Operating Officer of Ashok Leyland, will assume the additional role of CEO for Switch Automotive Mobility Limited (Switch India) starting September 1, 2025.

This move aligns with Switch India’s strategic approach to leverage Ashok Leyland’s strengths, optimizing operational costs while maintaining a strong focus on developing cutting-edge battery-electric buses and light commercial vehicles. Dheeraj G Hinduja, Chairman of Switch Mobility, expressed gratitude for Mahesh Babu’s contributions, stating, “We want to thank Mr Mahesh for his significant impact during his time with us. With EBITDA breakeven achieved in FY25, Switch India is now well-positioned to scale its business and reach positive PAT in the near future. Ganesh Mani’s extensive experience in operational excellence and managing large-scale transformations will guide Switch India into its next phase of profitable growth.”
