Union Minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted the significant potential for exporting electric two-wheelers from India, particularly to regions where Indian manufacturers are already successfully selling traditional engine models. During the launch of Revolt Motors’ latest electric commuter motorcycle, Gadkari pointed out that a substantial 50 percent of motorcycles produced in India are exported.

Leading manufacturers such as Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, and TVS are already well-established in various international markets, which further emphasizes the opportunity for electric vehicle exports. Gadkari encouraged Revolt Motors to actively pursue export markets in neighboring countries, as well as in Africa and Latin America.

His remarks underscore the government’s commitment to promoting electric mobility as a sustainable alternative to conventional vehicles and the role of Indian companies in this global shift. Anjali Rattan, Co-Founder and Chairperson of Rattan India Enterprises, which promotes Revolt Motors, shared that the company has concrete plans to commence exports to Sri Lanka as an initial step.

Additionally, Revolt Motors is looking into export prospects in Nepal, various African countries, and nations across Latin America. This strategic approach not only aligns with government initiatives but also positions Revolt Motors as a key player in the international electric motorcycle market.

At the event, Revolt Motors unveiled its new commuter electric bike, the RV1, which comes with an introductory price range of Rs 84,990 to Rs 99,990. The RV1 is available in two variants, featuring battery options of 2.2 kWh, offering a range of 100 kilometers, and a more powerful 3.24 kWh variant, which can travel up to 160 kilometers on a single charge.

This new model is part of Revolt’s broader strategy to cater to the growing demand for electric vehicles in India and abroad. In a discussion about the company’s future, Anjali Rattan expressed that Revolt Motors has ambitious plans to launch a new product each year over the next five years. This commitment to innovation demonstrates the company’s dedication to enhancing its product lineup and meeting the evolving needs of consumers in the electric two-wheeler segment.

Moreover, Rattan announced plans to expand Revolt’s sales network significantly, with a goal to increase the number of outlets from the current 125 to 500 within the next 12 to 18 months. By the end of the current fiscal year, the dealership count is expected to reach 250 outlets, thereby improving accessibility for customers and bolstering the brand’s presence in the market.

Overall, the push for electric two-wheeler exports and the strategic plans laid out by Revolt Motors reflect a forward-thinking approach to both domestic and international markets, contributing to India’s vision of a greener future through electric mobility.
