Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the Swargiya Bhanutai Gadkari Memorial Diagnostic Centre in North Nagpur, a charitable facility designed to provide essential medical services to economically weaker sections of the city. Developed under his guidance, the centre offers MRI, CT scans, dialysis, blood testing, and digital X-rays—at either nominal charges or completely free of cost. All diagnostic equipment at the centre is domestically produced at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), symbolizing India’s growing strength in homegrown healthcare technology.

Occupying a 6,000 sq ft fully air-conditioned facility, the centre operates with a fully digital, paperless system and is managed by the Swargiya Bhanutai Gadkari Gramin Vikas Sanstha. It houses five advanced dialysis machines and cutting-edge digital X-ray units to cater to a broad spectrum of diagnostic needs. The initiative is aimed not only at supporting communities in North Nagpur but also extending its services across underserved areas of the city.

Shri Gadkari remarked that the project showcases a blend of technological progress and social commitment. He highlighted that with support from AMTZ, the initiative marks a significant step toward last-mile healthcare delivery, while reinforcing India’s position in medical technology manufacturing. Equipment such as the 1.5 Tesla Clarity MRI and Inspiration 64 Smart CT scanner—both developed and produced at AMTZ in Visakhapatnam—demonstrate the ability to combine advanced features like MUSIC technology and rapid-scan capabilities with patient comfort and precision diagnostics. All systems are certified by CDSCO, AERB, and BIS.

At the launch, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Dr Jitendra Sharma, MD and Founder CEO of AMTZ, jointly dedicated the centre to the public. Dr Sharma emphasized India’s capacity to design and manufacture high-quality diagnostic equipment, which in turn reduces costs and enhances access. The Chief Minister commended the initiative and proposed partnering with AMTZ to establish similar centres across the state, bringing accessible healthcare closer to underserved populations.

The Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) is India’s premier medical technology manufacturing park, based in Visakhapatnam. Since its inception, AMTZ has been at the forefront of advancing healthcare innovation, production, and policy to support both national and global health systems.
