Fronius unveiled cutting-edge welding solutions at the SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN trade fair, emphasizing energy, material, and time efficiency. Their digital products include the Welducation Simulator for training through augmented reality and the WeldCube Navigator for guiding welders in production tasks. Fronius demonstrated TIG welding excellence and showcased their automation portfolio, software solutions, and commitment to safety. They provided a glimpse into future innovations, including enhanced additive manufacturing processes and a revolutionary maintenance app, Pocket Engineer, while introducing new manual welding systems.


At the recent SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN trade fair in Essen, Fronius introduced a range of forward-looking, efficient welding solutions. These solutions, which cater to manual work, series production, and automation, focus on optimizing energy, material, and time usage. Fronius also unveiled its latest digital welding products designed to make welding more accessible, efficient, and safe for both beginners and professionals.

Addressing the Skilled Worker Shortage with Digitalization

One highlight was the company’s response to the shortage of skilled workers – the Welducation Simulator. Using augmented reality (AR), this innovative tool provides apprentices with realistic training experiences, offering a safe learning environment free from heat, welding fumes, or flash burns. Additionally, Fronius presented the WeldCube Navigator, a system that guides welders step by step through welding tasks to minimize errors, reduce rework, and enhance efficiency.

Fronius also showcased their expertise in TIG welding with the TIG DynamicWire Welding Package for the iWave, making it easier for novices to produce high-quality TIG seams.

Automation Portfolio and Software Solutions

For the first time, Fronius introduced its extensive automation portfolio, including a robotic welding cell, cobot cells, and the FCW Smart circular seam welding system. The company also demonstrated the Fronius Pathfinder programming and simulation software, enabling efficient offline programming and real-time arc monitoring.

Safety and Health Initiatives

Fronius emphasized the importance of safety, showcasing their new extraction devices and ergonomic, high-performance torches. They also featured safety equipment such as Bluetooth-enabled welding helmets with fresh-air supply and air-purifying respirators. Experts discussed the significance of welding fume prevention and employee health in live-stage presentations.

Looking Ahead to 2024

Fronius revealed plans for 2024, including more precise and optimized process characteristics for additive manufacturing and a revolutionary maintenance app called the Pocket Engineer. The company also introduced Fronius Artis, a TIG welding system, and Fronius Ignis, for manual arc welding, which will be available in the first half of the year
