FRIWO, an international leader in the production of advanced chargers and e-drive solutions, has announced the expansion of its electromobility product portfolio with the introduction of the state-of-the-art MC1.5-55A-48V motor control unit. This new addition is specifically designed to meet the growing demands of the Asian markets, including India, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Southeast Asia.
The MC1.5-55A-48V motor control unit features a continuous power output of 1.5 kW, making it ideal for 2- and 3-wheel vehicles. It is built to withstand harsh conditions and high ambient temperatures, boasting an IP65 protection rating that ensures durability and reliability in demanding environments.
One of the key attributes of the MC1.5-55A-48V is its flexibility and custom-developed firmware, which make it suitable for a wide range of applications beyond its primary target markets. The unit’s extensive range of interfaces allows for seamless integration into various end-use applications, underscored by its robust technical performance.
Operating with a supply voltage range of 30 – 72 V and capable of delivering a motor current of 100 A RMS, the MC1.5-55A-48V is designed to handle rigorous tasks such as hill starts effortlessly. It is optimized for use with permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM), making it a perfect fit for electric scooters, motorcycles, and other electric vehicles.
The unit supports the integration of sensors like accelerator handles or brakes through its two analog inputs, and offers comprehensive control and configuration options via nine digital inputs. Communication is facilitated through the CAN protocol, ensuring smooth system integration and networking capabilities.
Accompanying the new motor control unit, FRIWO has also introduced the FRIWO Enable Tool, a sophisticated measurement and calibration software package designed for parameterizing motor controllers and battery management systems. This tool offers extensive functionalities for controlling and optimizing motor performance. Users can easily update firmware and read out parameter memory quickly, ensuring swift integration and commissioning.
The FRIWO Enable Tool also allows for a wide range of parameter adjustments per control unit, enabling customization of the driving experience to meet specific customer preferences. By generating securely signed data sets for production and after-sales applications, the tool guarantees the highest standards of security and integrity.
