FPT Industrial has commenced licensed production of its F28 engine in India, designed for use in construction and agricultural machinery. The India TREM 5-compliant engine will be assembled at CNH Industrial’s Greater Noida plant, located in Uttar Pradesh, southeast of New Delhi.

This agreement allows customers in India to access FPT’s advanced technology, bringing increased efficiency and sustainability to local markets. The F28 engine will be produced on a new assembly line set up in a renovated facility within the Noida complex.

The production timeline aligns with the upcoming Stage 5 CEV legislation for construction equipment, expected to come into effect by the end of 2024. The Stage 5 TREM standards for agricultural equipment are scheduled for implementation in April 2026. New Holland tractors manufactured at the Greater Noida plant, along with Case Construction Equipment from Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, will incorporate the F28 engine.

Speaking at the inauguration of the new assembly line, Eugenia Valente, VP of Asia & ANZ for FPT Industrial, highlighted the mutual benefits of the partnership, noting that CNH can better meet local market demands while FPT Industrial expands its footprint in the region.

The F28 diesel engine comes in multiple power variants, ranging from 37 to 75 kW, and can be customized with different flywheels, housings, oil pans, and filters. With its one-side servicing design, the engine offers a 600-hour oil change interval, reducing maintenance costs and increasing uptime.
