FPT Industrial, a brand under the Iveco Group specializing in low-environmental impact powertrains, has teamed up with longtime partner and distributor Bimotor to supply the engines for Monaco’s new high-tech marine fireboat, the HTM 440 Fireman.
High Tech Marine (HTM) secured an international tender in 2021 to design and build the fireboat, with Bimotor and the shipyard collaborating closely on the project ever since. The boat, crafted with Italian design and production expertise, stands out not only for its technology but also for the exceptional after-sales support from Bimotor and FPT Industrial.
The HTM 440 Fireman, a 12-meter vessel, represents cutting-edge technology in the fireboat sector. It is designed to respond rapidly and effectively to maritime emergencies. Powered by two FPT Industrial N67 550 marine engines, the fireboat boasts 1,100 horsepower, enabling swift reactions with speeds of up to 36 knots at medium load and 33 knots at full load. Additionally, an FPT Industrial N40 250 E variable speed auxiliary engine powers a 5,000-liter firefighting pump at 10 BAR pressure, along with a specialized system for high-pressure drilling of distressed ships.
Equipped with advanced firefighting and operational systems, the boat significantly enhances Monaco’s firefighting capabilities, ensuring better safety and security in the waters surrounding the Principality. On May 4, 2024, the fireboat, named “Prince Jacques,” was officially launched in Monaco’s port. The event was attended by Monaco’s Royal Family, Archbishop Dominique-Marie David, and Lieutenant-Colonel Maxime Yvard, Commander of the Monaco Fire Brigade.
High Tech Marine, based in Parma, Italy, has a reputation for designing and producing custom tenders for mega and giga yachts, with a focus on quality and craftsmanship. Over its two decades of operation, HTM has expanded into professional markets, while still maintaining its dedication to producing fully customized, handmade vessels.
Bimotor, FPT Industrial’s authorized distributor in Northern Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Croatia, and Slovenia, has been a key player in the distribution and customization of diesel engines for industrial and marine applications since its founding in 1981. Based in Cirié, Turin, Bimotor provides a full range of services for integrating diesel engines into non-vehicular applications, guiding customers through every step of the process.
