FPT Automotive, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s FPT Corporation, has renewed its corporate-level partnership with Japan’s Subaru Corporation for another two years. Building on the 2024 agreement initially signed with Subaru’s IT division, this expanded collaboration underscores a shared vision for innovation and long-term progress in the automotive sector.

Under the new agreement, both companies will work closely to drive advancements in automotive technology, focusing on key areas such as software-defined vehicles, autonomous driving, and next-generation safety features. By combining Subaru’s automotive engineering expertise with FPT’s capabilities in digital transformation and software development, the partnership seeks to accelerate progress in intelligent, connected mobility.

A key component of this collaboration is an Expert Exchange Program, which will see FPT’s engineers undergoing training at Subaru’s manufacturing facilities in Gunma, Japan. In return, workshops will be conducted in Vietnam to align FPT’s technical teams with Subaru’s standards, ensuring seamless integration and improved service quality.

“Our collaboration with Subaru blends FPT’s strengths in automotive software with Subaru’s decades of engineering excellence. Through this co-creation model, we aim to enhance software development capabilities and set new benchmarks in safety and connected mobility. This partnership also contributes to building a global talent ecosystem that will shape the future of the automotive industry while delivering superior service quality,” said Mdm. Chu Thi Thanh Ha, Chairwoman of FPT Software.

Reflecting on Subaru’s growing engagement with Vietnam, Mr. Ishizaki Atsushi, Senior General Manager of Subaru’s IT Strategy Division, remarked, “Our interactions in Vietnam have been truly inspiring. What stands out about FPT is their deep commitment to people—something Subaru values greatly as well. With a shared focus on safety and customer satisfaction, we look forward to strengthening this partnership further.”

FPT’s growing role as a digital transformation leader in the automotive industry is further reinforced through this collaboration. With over 20 years of experience in automotive technology and a workforce of 4,000 dedicated automotive software engineers, FPT established FPT Automotive in 2023 to address the rising global demand for software-defined vehicles. The company’s strong presence in Japan—where it operates 17 offices and innovation hubs with over 4,000 employees and 15,000 offshore professionals—positions it as a key technology partner for Japanese automakers.

FPT Corporation is a global leader in technology and IT services, operating across three primary sectors: Technology, Telecommunications, and Education. Over the past three decades, FPT has provided transformative solutions to millions of individuals and thousands of businesses worldwide. The company is committed to advancing Vietnam’s position in the global tech landscape, with a strategic focus on Artificial Intelligence, Automotive, Semiconductor, Digital Transformation, and Green Technology.
