Foxconn Chairman Young Liu to Visit India This Year

Foxconn Chairman Young Liu plans to visit India this year. Liu received the Padma Bhushan Award from India Taipei Association Director General Manharsinh Yadav in Taipei on July 4. This award is India’s third-highest civilian honor and was given on the eve of the 75th Republic Day.

Liu expressed gratitude, saying he was humbled to receive the award and proud to accept it on behalf of Foxconn employees contributing to India’s local economies. He looks forward to meeting India’s President during his visit.

Liu’s last visit to India was in July last year, where he attended the Semicon India conclave and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Foxconn has invested around USD 9-10 billion in India and is expanding its iPhone production, setting up a chip plant with HCL Group, and establishing an electric vehicle manufacturing unit and an Apple AirPods factory.
