Global automotive supplier ForviaHella has been awarded several significant contracts from a major US car manufacturer, totaling over €2 billion. These deals span both electronics and lighting projects, set to be implemented over the next two to four years within ForviaHella’s production facilities in Mexico.

Bernard Schäferbarthold, ForviaHella’s CEO, emphasized the strategic importance of these projects, which align with key automotive market trends. He noted the company’s efforts to diversify beyond Europe while maintaining a strong presence in the region. The new contracts are expected to bolster ForviaHella’s international business expansion.

Among the key projects is a substantial order for the Smart Car Access system, based on ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, which allows hands-free vehicle access and engine starting. The system also features enhanced security measures against relay attacks. Another major order involves lighting electronics, marking the company’s largest single order in this category to date.

The company will also introduce its first Front Phygital Shield to the American market, a cutting-edge front vehicle module featuring illuminated logos and other lighting elements, stretching 1.8 meters across the vehicle’s width. Additional lighting projects include slim LED headlamps, illuminated grilles, rear combination lamps, and fog lamps.

Schäferbarthold praised the dedication of ForviaHella’s global teams, attributing the successful acquisition of these future-oriented automotive technology projects to their efforts. He expressed gratitude to all employees involved in securing the deals.
