Force Motors has recently disclosed its plan to cease operations in the agricultural tractors sector, which will be effective from March 31. This strategic decision is part of the company’s broader product rationalization strategy. The primary objective behind this move is to reallocate resources towards the enhancement of core segments such as shared mobility transportation and the development of special vehicles for civil and defence applications.
In the fiscal year 2023, the sales of agricultural tractors accounted for 3.66% of Force Motors’ overall revenue. The company, well-known for its production of multi-seater passenger vehicles and its role in manufacturing engines for BMW and Mercedes vehicles in India, generates 48% of its total revenue from vehicle sales and 36% from its contract manufacturing of engines.
Force Motors, despite facing various challenges, announced profitability for the fourth consecutive quarter from October to December. This achievement was attributed to the company’s ability to capitalize on the post-pandemic economic recovery. With a strategic realignment at the forefront of its agenda, the Maharashtra-based company is steadfast in its objective to fortify its position in key sectors, all while ensuring sustainable growth and profitability in the foreseeable future.
