On International Day of Education, Fleetguard Filters Pvt. Ltd. (FFPL) showcased its commitment to social responsibility by supporting the release of a short film titled Prabhaar. The film, directed by Rahul Panshikar, tells the poignant story of Neena, a young girl who defies societal norms and strives for education despite numerous challenges. Inspired by the real-life struggles of Heena Mistry, the film highlights the oppressive cultural attitudes that restrict girls’ educational opportunities in certain communities.

Prabhaar follows Neena’s journey of resilience, as she overcomes adversity to pursue her dream of education and self-reliance. The film’s powerful narrative aims to raise awareness of the barriers faced by girls in accessing education, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

At the launch event, Heena Mistry, a Bombay High Court lawyer, shared her personal story of overcoming educational barriers, emphasizing the widespread struggle faced by girls in securing an education. She expressed her desire to inspire other girls to take charge of their futures. Saloni Kumari, another student who overcame similar obstacles, shared her journey from Darbhanga to Delhi, while Navnath Shinde spoke about his own experiences with education and the transformative power it holds when supported at the right time.

Sanjay Kulkarni, President of FFPL, commented, “Girls’ education remains a critical issue across India, with challenges such as lack of toilets in schools and patriarchal attitudes hindering progress. Through our CSR efforts, we have constructed over 30 toilets in schools to help address these issues.” He emphasized the importance of community support, particularly from mothers, in empowering girls to face obstacles and succeed academically.

FFPL’s CSR initiatives are focused on driving social change across areas such as health and safety, education, environmental sustainability, and community infrastructure. With projects like Prabhaar, the company is reinforcing its commitment to education and empowerment as central values of its CSR strategy.

FFPL, established in 1987 and a leader in filtration solutions, continues to make a lasting impact through innovation and community engagement. Through its partnerships and ongoing CSR efforts, the company strives to contribute to inclusive development and create sustainable, positive change in communities across India.
