India’s food and beverage industry is witnessing rapid change as consumers increasingly seek healthier products, convenient foods, clean-label ingredients and sustainable packaging. Rising investments, supportive government policies, growing exports and advances in manufacturing technology are also creating new opportunities for the sector.
Against this backdrop, Informa Markets in India will host the 20th edition of Fi India alongside the 8th edition of ProPak India from August 26 to 28, 2026, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. The co-located exhibitions will bring together more than 600 exhibitors, over 1,500 brands and 15,000 domestic and international industry professionals. The events will provide a common platform covering the complete food manufacturing value chain, from ingredients and product development to processing, automation, packaging and supply chain solutions.
India’s food processing industry is expected to become a $600 billion opportunity by 2030. Government programmes, including the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, are supporting domestic manufacturing and encouraging greater value addition. At the same time, demand for functional nutrition, plant-based products, convenience foods and environmentally responsible packaging is prompting companies to adopt new technologies and production methods.
Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India, said the industry is undergoing significant transformation as consumer preferences, technology and sustainability reshape food manufacturing. He said demand for healthier, clean-label and plant-based products is driving ingredient innovation, while automation, smart manufacturing and circular packaging are changing the way food products are processed and delivered.
India’s food technology market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 6.9% through 2032, reflecting increasing investments in digitalisation, automation and advanced manufacturing. Regulatory developments, including the move towards the CPCB’s Common EPR Portal, are also encouraging greater efficiency, traceability and recycling across the packaging ecosystem.
Fi India, marking its 20th edition, will feature more than 400 exhibitors and over 1,200 brands from India and overseas. The exhibition will showcase food ingredients, flavours, natural ingredients, nutraceuticals, proteins, dairy ingredients, sweeteners and biotics. The event will bring together buyers and professionals from bakery, beverages, dairy, sports nutrition, functional foods, ready meals and other related sectors.
A two-day conference will feature more than 40 speakers across 15 sessions, covering ingredient innovation, food regulations, gut health, sustainability and emerging technologies. Key themes will include clean-label formulations, plant-based alternatives, protein enrichment and personalised nutrition.
ProPak India will complement the ingredients showcase by bringing packaging and processing technology providers together with food manufacturers and brands. The combined platform will enable participants to explore new solutions, build partnerships and identify opportunities across India’s expanding food and beverage industry.
