FAULHABER has unveiled the new MC 3602 B and MC 3606 B motion controllers, designed to simplify drive system integration and expand compatibility across a wide range of motor technologies. These compact controllers support DC motors, brushless DC motors, linear motors, and stepper motors with or without encoders, offering flexible operation modes in accordance with CiA 402 standards.
The controllers are compatible with EtherCAT, CANopen, RS232, and USB interfaces, ensuring seamless integration and quick commissioning. The new MC 3602 B and MC 3606 B motion controllers from FAULHABER provide versatile and efficient solutions for motor control.
The MC 3602 B variant supports up to 2 A continuous output current for smaller motors, while the MC 3606 B variant delivers up to 6 A for medium-sized motors, simplifying tasks for engineers. These controllers are designed for applications involving multiple motor technologies, requiring only one motor controller and a GUI. Installation and commissioning are streamlined with the free FAULHABER “Motion Manager 7” software, enabling the drive to operate within just a few steps.
All major operating modes of the CiA 402 servo drive are supported, with integration facilitated through CANopen or RS232, and a USB interface is primarily used during commissioning. An optional EtherCAT module enables ultra-fast cycle times as short as 1 ms. Moreover, the motion controllers can also function independently in stand-alone mode, eliminating the need for central control.
When paired with FAULHABER motors, the MC 3602 B and MC 3606 B create a comprehensive drive system with advanced protective features. Designed specifically for motors with ironless windings, they deliver exceptional performance and dynamics. Additionally, standard motors, such as NEMA stepper motors, can be seamlessly operated with these controllers, making them a reliable foundation for various applications. Whether it involves stepper motors in open-loop or closed-loop configurations, or combinations with brushless, linear, or DC servomotors, these controllers address a broad spectrum of requirements in industrial and laboratory automation, robotics, semiconductor processing, and measurement systems.
