Exicom Tele-Systems Limited has inaugurated a new integrated manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, marking a significant expansion of the company’s production capabilities for electric vehicle charging systems and critical power technologies. The new plant represents a major investment in advanced power electronics manufacturing and reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening domestic manufacturing while supporting the rapid growth of electric mobility and digital infrastructure.

Developed with an investment of ₹216 crore, the facility spans 18.4 acres and includes a built-up area of approximately 280,000 square feet. With the commissioning of the first phase, the company’s manufacturing capacity is expected to increase by 2.5 times, while also generating more than 750 employment opportunities in the region.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by industry leaders from the telecommunications and electric mobility sectors, highlighting the growing importance of power electronics manufacturing in supporting India’s energy transition and digital infrastructure.

The new manufacturing unit has been established to address rising demand for EV charging infrastructure, lithium-ion battery systems, and critical power solutions across both domestic and international markets. These technologies are essential for supporting electric mobility, telecommunications networks, data centres, and other critical infrastructure systems that require stable and uninterrupted power supply.

The Hyderabad facility has been designed in accordance with Industry 4.0 manufacturing principles, integrating advanced automation technologies, robotics, and digital production monitoring systems. These systems enable precise manufacturing processes while improving efficiency and product traceability across the production cycle.

The plant also includes an ISO 8 cleanroom environment, which is required for the production of advanced power electronics components that demand controlled manufacturing conditions. In addition to production capabilities, the facility incorporates specialized testing infrastructure that allows engineers to evaluate product performance under real-world operating conditions. This testing capability is essential for ensuring the reliability and durability of EV charging equipment and critical power systems deployed in demanding environments.

As part of its long-term technology roadmap, Exicom also plans to establish India’s first EV charger interoperability testing centre at the Hyderabad facility. The centre will focus on ensuring compatibility between EV chargers and vehicles from different manufacturers, supporting the development of standardized charging infrastructure across the country. The Hyderabad plant will also manufacture Tritium’s TRI-FLEX liquid-cooled power modules, bringing advanced global EV charging technology closer to the Indian market.

Exicom Tele-Systems Limited is recognized as one of India’s leading companies in the EV charging and critical power sectors. The company operates across the entire EV charger value chain, offering products in both AC and DC charging segments.

Beyond electric mobility, the company’s critical power solutions support essential infrastructure such as telecommunications networks, ensuring reliable power supply for communication systems and other mission-critical operations. Exicom’s power technologies play a key role in supporting telecom towers and network infrastructure that require uninterrupted energy to maintain connectivity.

Over the years, the company has expanded its presence across multiple international markets including India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the United States, and Europe. To date, Exicom has sold more than 133,000 EV chargers worldwide, establishing itself as a key participant in the global electric mobility ecosystem.

Through continued investment in manufacturing, research, and advanced technology infrastructure, the company aims to strengthen its position as a global provider of EV charging solutions while supporting the transition toward sustainable transportation and resilient energy infrastructure.
