Eveready Industries India Limited (BSE: 531508 | NSE: EVEREADY | CSE: 000029) reported a strong start to FY27, with consolidated revenue from operations rising 9% year-on-year to ₹407.7 crore in the quarter ended 30 June 2026, compared with ₹374.1 crore in Q1 FY26. The company recorded its seventh consecutive quarter of year-on-year revenue growth.
EBITDA increased to ₹61.5 crore, from ₹56.1 crore a year earlier, while the EBITDA margin remained broadly stable at 15.1%, despite higher zinc prices, raw material costs and foreign-exchange-linked inputs. Profit after tax rose 22.3% to ₹37.0 crore, compared with ₹30.2 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company said calibrated pricing measures, procurement initiatives, foreign exchange management and continued cost discipline helped offset input-cost pressures and protect profitability.
The battery business remained a key contributor to growth, with revenue increasing 11.9% during the quarter. Alkaline battery volumes rose approximately 48%, supported by continued consumer demand, while carbon zinc battery volumes returned to growth of around 1%.
Commercial production has also commenced at Eveready’s Jammu alkaline battery facility, described by the company as India’s only operational alkaline battery manufacturing facility. The plant is expected to support import substitution, greater manufacturing localisation and operating efficiencies as utilisation increases.
In the flashlights segment, rechargeable products continued to perform strongly, with growth exceeding 20%, reflecting rising consumer preference for rechargeable solutions. Overall segment revenue, however, declined around 6.7%, primarily because a delayed monsoon affected seasonal demand for conventional battery-operated flashlights. The lighting segment grew 13.7%, supported by healthy volumes across LED bulbs, emergency lighting and accessories. The company also noted that price erosion in the category showed signs of moderation during the quarter.
Eveready continued to expand its product portfolio, strengthening its presence in the organised mosquito-racket market. During the quarter, it launched the SHOR rechargeable torch, featuring a 100-decibel animal alarm and red UV strobe light designed to help farmers deter animal intrusion. The company also introduced the Xtra Bright LED bulb, offering up to twice the brightness for use during power outages.
Anirban Banerjee, Chief Executive Officer, Eveready Industries India Limited, said: “We continue to see healthy topline momentum across channels and key segments. While commodity prices, input costs and currency movements remain areas of focus, we are taking calibrated measures to protect profitability. We remain committed to strengthening our product portfolio and expanding our market presence.”
Bibek Agarwala, Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer, said: “Margins remained broadly stable despite inflation in zinc and other key inputs, supported by pricing, forex management and cost discipline. As the Jammu alkaline facility scales up, localisation and operating leverage should support further efficiency.”
