EVE Energy, a leading global lithium-ion battery manufacturer, has earned the first-ever TÜV SÜD Mark certificate for electric vehicle batteries under the new EU battery regulation (EU) 2023/1542. The certification, granted by TÜV SÜD, a world-renowned testing and certification organization, was awarded on December 18, 2024, confirming the company’s adherence to the strict standards outlined in the regulation. This achievement reinforces EVE Energy’s technical expertise and quality management system, positioning the company strongly in international markets, especially the EU.

The EU Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 establishes requirements for the entire lifecycle of electric vehicle batteries, from production to recycling, aiming to promote sustainability and carbon neutrality within the EU. This regulation imposes rigorous standards on battery safety, performance, and environmental impact, ensuring compliance with the EU’s environmental goals.

EVE Energy’s certification covers all key aspects of the EU Battery Regulation, including safety, restricted substances, carbon footprint, performance, durability, labeling, and battery life. TÜV SÜD also evaluated the company’s quality system as part of the certification process. EVE Energy worked closely with TÜV SÜD throughout the audit to ensure complete transparency and compliance.

The company has developed a comprehensive carbon footprint management system, collecting data from seven factories and applying an Environmental Footprint (EF) 3.1 impact assessment method to calculate the carbon footprint. EVE Energy is the first in the battery manufacturing sector to complete both carbon footprint calculation and establish a data quality system in accordance with the EU’s regulation, showcasing its commitment to sustainability.

EVE Energy adheres to the EU’s standards for environmental protection, safety, and durability through rigorous product testing and supplier examinations, ensuring high-quality standards throughout its operations. Achieving the TÜV SÜD Mark highlights EVE Energy’s dedication to product excellence and its proactive approach to meeting international market demands.

This certification strengthens EVE Energy’s competitive position in the global battery market and helps secure its entry into the EU market. The company aims to continue its collaboration with TÜV SÜD to support the global expansion of Chinese battery companies, driving innovation and contributing to sustainable green energy solutions worldwide.

EVE Energy, established in 2001 and listed on the Shenzhen GEM in 2009, has become a key player in the global lithium battery sector, providing advanced solutions for consumer electronics, power batteries, and energy storage, with a focus on sustainable and green technologies.
