Engineering Technology Associates, Inc. (ETA) has launched Dynaform 7.2, the latest version of its renowned sheet metal forming simulation software. This new release introduces a range of enhanced features aimed at improving the efficiency and precision of die system processes across industries such as automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing. Building on the success of Dynaform 7.1, the update continues ETA’s commitment to providing top-tier tools for engineers and manufacturers worldwide.

Dynaform 7.2 offers several new features that streamline metal forming operations, including significant improvements in Blank Size Engineering (BSE), Die Face Design (DFD), Formability Simulation (FS), and Tube Bending & Forming (TBF). The updated BSE module enhances material utilization with better nesting results, while the DFD module now includes Auto CAM and Trim Segment functionalities, providing greater flexibility in tool design.

The software’s signature Sigform solver has also been upgraded for more precise multistage forming simulations, even under complex conditions. The Die Structural Integrity (DSI) module continues to deliver dynamic analysis of die structures, providing detailed insights into mechanical performance, load capacity, and potential stress points.

“We are excited to introduce Dynaform 7.2, a significant step forward in metal forming simulation,” said Dr. Shan Nageswaran, ETA’s CTO. “This version enhances our already robust platform, giving engineers more tools to improve efficiency and precision in their processes.”

Dynaform 7.2 introduces several key features aimed at enhancing simulation precision and efficiency. The Sigform Solver now offers improved accuracy and faster processing through parallel frameworks. Die Face Design becomes more flexible and intuitive with tools like Auto CAM, Trim Segment, and Flange Tool Enhancements, making multistage designs easier.

The Clamping Springback feature measures springback using pads, clamps, and pilot pins for better simulation accuracy. Hot Forming in FS simplifies the simulation of high-strength steel forming with a user-friendly interface for complex setups.

Additionally, the Sheet Drop Test feature ensures dimensional accuracy by analyzing part deformations during production, while the Die Structural Integrity (DSI) module provides a comprehensive solution for addressing mechanical and structural challenges in die systems.

Dynaform 7.2 provides an integrated solution for sheet metal forming, reducing production times, minimizing errors, and increasing profitability. It is designed for industries such as automotive, aerospace, and other sectors where precision and efficiency are critical to success.
