Essar Energy Transition’s trading arm, EET Fuels, has signed new agreements to provide jet fuel to two major UK airports, the company announced on Wednesday. EET Fuels is part of Essar Energy Transition, which is spearheading the Essar Group’s $3.6 billion low-carbon initiatives in the UK and India, including the operation of the Stanlow oil refinery. “This expansion brings EET Fuels’ network to nine airports across the UK, marking a key achievement in our mission to enhance energy security and support the aviation sector’s growth,” the company stated.

Deepak Maheshwari, CEO of EET Fuels, emphasized that this agreement highlights their commitment to strengthening the UK’s aviation fuel infrastructure while advancing its energy transition strategy. “Expanding our supply to nine major airports not only boosts fuel security and reliability for our airline partners but also reinforces our leadership role in the UK’s shift to a low-carbon future.”

Ellese Munnerley, Aviation Account Manager at EET Fuels, added that the new agreements expand their service coverage for airline customers, while the strategic locations of the airports demonstrate their ability to deliver a resilient fuel supply across the UK.

Operating out of the Stanlow Refinery in Ellesmere Port, EET Fuels is one of the largest suppliers of jet fuel in the UK, and also provides around 16% of the country’s road transport fuels. The company plays a critical role in the North West’s aviation industry. In addition to these new agreements, EET Fuels has previously secured supply contracts with Manchester, Birmingham, London Stansted, Newcastle, Liverpool, Cardiff, and Leeds airports.

“This expansion aligns with EET Fuels’ strategy to integrate further into the value chain by directly delivering refined jet fuel produced at our Stanlow refinery to key demand centres,” the company explained. “This initiative is also in line with our broader goal of leading the UK’s energy transition.”

Essar Energy Transition is investing $2.4 billion at the Stanlow site to transform it into a leading low-carbon refinery and energy transition hub, which will include carbon capture, low-carbon hydrogen production, and Europe’s first hydrogen-powered combined heat and power plant.
