EPLAN, a leader in engineering software solutions, has joined forces with international technology company Dassault Systèmes to further the integration of electrical engineering and fluid-power technology in product development. This collaboration is part of EPLAN’s Partner Network, a community comprising 65 manufacturers focused on advancing digital transformation through networked systems and end-to-end data sharing.
The partnership aims to expand the interface between EPLAN’s platform and Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, enabling seamless integration of electrical engineering and fluid-power technology in product development. The ultimate goal is to enhance process efficiencies for shared clients by connecting various systems bidirectionally, such as ECAD, ERP, and PDM.
Sebastian Seitz, CEO of EPLAN & Cideon, highlighted the benefits of the partnership, stating, “With the bidirectional interface between the EPLAN Platform and the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform, we’re increasing the process efficiencies of our common clients. When all systems are bidirectionally connected – ECAD, ERP, and PDM, for instance – users can work in a truly interdisciplinary manner and thus much more efficiently.”
Dominic Kurtaz, Managing Director EURCENTRAL at Dassault Systèmes, emphasized how the partnership would support clients in achieving greater efficiency and productivity in holistic product development based on virtual twins. He stated, “The bidirectional interface simplifies numerous processes and creates new collaboration opportunities for our customers. We are, therefore, delighted to take this groundbreaking step together with EPLAN.”
The collaboration will see ongoing expansion in the coming months, with both companies working to optimize the PLM 3DEXPERIENCE Connector interface and offer new solutions for digital product development in the cloud environment. Additionally, a joint demonstration environment within the Engineering Collaboration Network will be established, providing videos and sample data in the PLM cloud environment and facilitating collaborative customer projects.
The interaction between EPLAN and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform enables automated data management processes for electrical engineering and fluid-power engineering. The integration allows users to perform operations such as searching, finding, creating projects, checking in or out of projects, and exporting EPLAN project pages into neutral formats more efficiently. The bidirectional communication ensures that information added in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is readily available in EPLAN, streamlining document generation and traditional PDM functionality.
This technology partnership between EPLAN and Dassault Systèmes is poised to deliver advanced digital development capabilities and drive greater efficiency and collaboration for industries involved in product development and engineering.
