Eplan, a software and solutions provider in the field of electrical, automation, and mechatronics engineering is presenting a new service for cross-project collaboration – Eplan eManage – which lets users upload Eplan Platform projects into the cloud and share and work on them there.
Systems of the EPLAN Platform and the Innovative cloud services have now become increasingly integrated. The free version of eManage which was launched in March 2021, enables easy uploading of projects from the EPLAN Platform and web browsers into the secure ePulse cloud environment. A fee-based paid version of the software will be released in August 2021, that will offer expanded functionality.
Cross-project collaboration
The modern ecosystem of industrial automation is characterized by many media discontinuities when processing and transferring documentation, the advantages of this system are clear: the EPLAN Platform systems in collaboration with the new cloud service will enable collaboration between control cabinet manufacturers and panel builders, system integrators and OEMs, as well as machine and plant system operators. All the work can be done together in a central project, synchronized on the EPLAN Platform via eManage in roundtrip engineering. Data security and flexibility for project access is ensured by clear access rights and role assignments. EPLAN Electric P8 and EPLAN Pro Panel users are already benefitting from these integrated processes as they are able to upload their projects into the cloud and transfer them back to the EPLAN Platform for further processing.
Direct data transfer to EPLAN review
Users can directly publish their project data in EPLAN eView with one click. This allows the Stakeholders to easily look and comment on entire projects. It further facilitates digitally implemented cross-company review processes. eManage, due to this clear, central availability in the cloud, supports project participants in quickly searching for specific content.
Synchronized, current data
EPLAN eManage synchronizes the EPLAN Project for all project participants and stakeholders. All participants can view any changes in the project and the project documentation is always current – across the entire project life cycle and even into operations and service scenarios.
