EPACK Durable, one of India’s leading manufacturers of consumer electronics, has signed a strategic agreement with South Korea-based Bumjin Electronics Co Limited to enter the smart audio segment. This collaboration, finalized on July 24, 2025, marks Bumjin’s entry into the Indian market and aligns with EPACK Durable’s vision to diversify its portfolio beyond air conditioners and small domestic appliances.
Under the partnership, the two companies will focus on producing soundbars, Bluetooth audio devices, and television speakers, catering to India’s growing appetite for intelligent and high-performance audio solutions. EPACK Durable’s scale in manufacturing, R&D strength, and distribution network will be complemented by Bumjin’s technical leadership and global experience in advanced audio technologies.
This venture is expected to support the production of next-generation audio products, with manufacturing operations slated to begin by the third quarter of FY 2026. The companies are aiming for a 30% share in the smart audio category.
This alliance represents a key milestone in EPACK Durable’s expansion strategy, opening new avenues in the consumer electronics space. It also allows the company to transition into a full-spectrum electronics manufacturing partner with capabilities across large and small home appliances. The collaboration will foster the exchange of technology and know-how, enabling the development of locally tailored products while also supporting export potential.
Speaking on the development, Ajay DD Singhania, MD & CEO of EPACK Durable, highlighted the significance of this step toward next-generation electronics. “We are combining our scale and infrastructure with Bumjin’s deep technical expertise to manufacture high-quality audio solutions tailored for today’s evolving consumer needs.”
Executive Chairman Bajrang Bothra added, “This partnership reflects our commitment to scalable growth in emerging product categories. With a strong market response from OEMs and a reliable technology partner like Bumjin, we are well-positioned to address both domestic and international demand.”
In addition to driving innovation and product localization, the partnership aims to reduce India’s reliance on imported speaker systems, which currently account for around a quarter of the domestic market. It also strengthens the foundation for future exports of audio solutions developed and manufactured in India.
EPACK Durable currently operates manufacturing units in Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Bhiwadi (Rajasthan), and Sri City (Andhra Pradesh), and is recognized for its design, customization, and production capabilities across a wide range of appliances. Meanwhile, Bumjin brings to the table its vertically integrated expertise in precision plastics, electronic components, and audio systems, serving major global brands through its network of subsidiaries and production hubs.
