Envision Wind Power Technologies India Private Limited has revealed a new agreement with Blueleaf Energy to supply EN-156 3.3 MW turbines for an upcoming wind-solar hybrid project in Madhya Pradesh. Blueleaf Energy, a leading pan-Asian renewable energy platform managed by Macquarie Asset Management, will oversee the development of this innovative project, which is set to commence in 2024 and be completed by 2025.
The project aims to combine wind and solar power generation at a single location, providing a steady clean energy supply while minimizing the need for grid expansion. This integration is expected to reduce the levelized cost of energy (LCOE). Amiram Roth-Deblon, Chief Operating Officer at Blueleaf Energy, emphasized the project’s potential to meet strategic energy needs and contribute to Blueleaf’s target of deploying over 5 GW of renewable energy capacity in India by 2030.
RPV Prasad, CEO of Envision Wind Power Technologies India, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the opportunity to leverage Madhya Pradesh’s substantial wind energy resources. In support of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, Envision will locally assemble nacelles and hubs in Pune, manufacture blades either locally or through Indian suppliers, and source tower components from Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Kane Xu, Global Vice President of Envision Energy and Chairman of Envision Energy India, stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in accelerating the transition to green energy. Xu noted that this partnership with Blueleaf Energy exemplifies Envision’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions in India.
The project represents a significant investment of around ₹500 crores and is expected to generate over 2,000 direct and indirect jobs. Envision Wind Power Technologies India has previously installed more than 1550 MW of wind energy projects and secured 7.7 GW from 21 independent power producers. To support future growth, Envision has set up a 3 GW annual manufacturing capacity for nacelles and hubs in Pune and a 2.5 GW capacity for blades across its Trichy plant and a global vendor near Bengaluru.
Envision Wind Power Technologies India Private Limited is a leading player in the Indian wind energy sector, specializing in the development and installation of wind turbines. With a track record of over 1550 MW installed capacity and ongoing projects, the company emphasizes local manufacturing and contributes significantly to India’s renewable energy goals, supporting the country’s net-zero targets.
