Endurance Technologies Limited has announced that its board has approved a capacity expansion plan for anti-lock braking systems (ABS), disc brake systems, and brake discs at the company’s Waluj facility in Maharashtra. The project will involve an investment of ₹135.6 crore, fully funded through internal accruals, and is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of FY26.
Under the plan, ABS capacity will increase by 200,000 units per month, in addition to the current 53,000 units. Monthly capacity for disc brake systems will rise by 100,000 units over the existing 532,260 units, while brake discs will see an increase of 100,000 units from the current 619,500 units. Present utilisation rates are 31% for ABS, 84% for disc brake systems, and 98% for brake discs.
The expansion comes in anticipation of stronger demand for advanced braking solutions, particularly ABS, which is expected to become mandatory under proposed government regulations for all two-wheelers above 50cc/0.5 KW manufactured from January 1, 2026.
As one of the few domestic ABS producers, Endurance is positioning itself to capitalise on the rising adoption of safety technologies. The company expects demand for disc brake systems and brake discs to grow alongside ABS penetration, and the additional capacity will help address these requirements.
