Endress+Hauser Employees Achieve Fundraising Goal for Water Project in Record Time

Endress+Hauser employees from around the world have come together to raise funds for a vital water project in Vietnam.

Endress+Hauser, a global leader in process measurement and automation, is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year with a series of events that not only commemorate its milestone but also contribute to a significant cause. Through the Endress+Hauser Water Challenge, employees from around the world have come together to raise funds for a vital water project in Vietnam, showcasing the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Launched in 2019, the Endress+Hauser Water Challenge encourages employees to participate in various physical activities such as running, cycling, swimming, and more, while also collecting donations for providing clean water to communities in need. The company matches each employee’s donation, amplifying the impact of their efforts. By extending their commitment to a safe, economic, and sustainable water supply, Endress+Hauser reinforces its dedication to the non-profit sector.

For the company’s 70th anniversary, the employees set an ambitious goal of circumnavigating the globe in 70 days through collective team activities. Astonishingly, the employees achieved this target by reaching the 40,075-kilometer mark in just five weeks. This remarkable accomplishment highlights the tremendous teamwork and enthusiasm exhibited by Endress+Hauser employees worldwide. Buoyed by their success, the campaign now sets its sights on circumnavigating the earth for a second time.

This year, the Endress+Hauser Water Challenge is directing its support towards a project in Vietnam, specifically in the Kon Tum province situated in the Central Highlands region near the borders of Laos and Cambodia. The project aims to provide clean drinking water to a village comprising 90 families, which currently has limited infrastructure and is located approximately 10 kilometers away from the main road. By focusing on this village, the campaign aims to improve the lives of over 1,000 individuals, transforming their access to safe water.

Employees participated in various physical activities such as running, cycling, swimming to collect funds.

The funds raised through the Endress+Hauser Water Challenge will be utilized to construct a water house in the heart of the village. The water house will utilize pumps to transport groundwater, which will then undergo filtration and purification through reverse osmosis systems. To ensure sustainable energy supply, solar panels will generate the required electricity during the day. In addition to these water-focused initiatives, the project will also involve the redesign of the village square and the renewal of the access road, further enhancing the overall living conditions for the community.

To execute the project effectively, Endress+Hauser Vietnam will collaborate with local partners, including NK Engineering and Plan International Vietnam, an aid organization. This partnership will enable a comprehensive and impactful approach towards providing the village with clean drinking water and essential infrastructure improvements. It is worth noting that the success of the first Endress+Hauser Water Challenge project, conducted in 2020, was also realized in Vietnam, further strengthening the company’s ties with the country.

Matthias Altendorf, CEO of Endress+Hauser, commended the employees for their remarkable dedication and global mobilization. “This success is a tremendous team effort,” Altendorf acknowledged. The Endress+Hauser Water Challenge has not only inspired employees but has also made a tangible difference in communities worldwide. With the project in Vietnam, the company continues to exemplify its commitment to sustainable development and making a positive impact on people’s lives.

As the campaign enters its next phase, the Endress+Hauser employees remain determined to make a lasting difference. By combining their passion for physical activities with a shared purpose, they continue to exemplify the spirit of corporate social responsibility and inspire others to contribute to meaningful causes. Endress+Hauser’s commitment to a safe and sustainable water supply serves as a testament to the company’s core values, while also fostering a culture of giving back within its global workforce.
