Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer is looking to collaborate with Indian suppliers to support its defense, commercial aviation, and executive jet divisions. India, a key market for Embraer, currently operates 44 of its aircraft across various sectors.

A delegation from Embraer is wrapping up a visit to India this week, exploring ways to integrate Indian suppliers into its global supply chain. The company sees opportunities for collaboration in areas like aerostructures, machining, sheet metal, composites, forgings, wire harnesses, and software and hardware development.

“India’s aviation and defense industry is highly developed, and we believe Indian manufacturers and systems developers can play a crucial role in Embraer’s supply chain,” said Roberto Chaves, Executive Vice-President of Global Procurement and Supply Chain at Embraer.

The company, in partnership with Mahindra, plans to establish a comprehensive local supply chain. This could include setting up an assembly line for the C-390 aircraft in India if selected for future defense programs. The company is a Brazilian aerospace company known for manufacturing commercial, military, executive, and agricultural aircraft.

Founded in 1969, it has grown into one of the world’s leading aerospace manufacturers, especially renowned for its regional jets, which are widely used by airlines across the globe. The company is also a significant player in the defense sector, producing military aircraft and providing integrated solutions for defense and security.

With a strong focus on innovation, the company is expanding its portfolio into advanced technologies such as electric and hybrid aircraft. Embraer’s global presence includes partnerships and manufacturing facilities across various continents, reflecting its key role in both commercial and defense aviation markets.
