Elektrobit, a global vendor of embedded and connected software products and services for the automotive industry, has announced a collaboration with NXP Semiconductors to support the new S32G3 series processors for software-defined vehicles. This collaboration aims to significantly reduce development time and costs, accelerating the time-to-market for next-generation vehicles.
Elektrobit is a visionary global vendor of embedded and connected software products and services for the automotive industry. With over 35 years of experience in automotive software, Elektrobit’s software powers over five billion devices in more than 600 million vehicles. It offers flexible and innovative solutions for car infrastructure software, connectivity & security, automated driving, and user experience. Elektrobit is a wholly-owned, independently-operated subsidiary of Continental.
The NXP S32G3 vehicle network processors offer more than double the processing, memory, and networking capabilities compared to the highly successful S32G2 series, while maintaining software compatibility and package pinout. These processors are designed for central vehicle compute applications in zonal-based, software-defined vehicles, providing high-performance ASIL D safety processing for AD/ADAS applications.
Elektrobit’s industry-leading AUTOSAR and Linux software now support the NXP S32G3 processors, making it easier for carmakers and suppliers to develop complex systems required by software-defined vehicles. The combination of NXP’s powerful hardware and Elektrobit’s EB tresos and EB corbos software solutions offers a comprehensive solution for developing advanced features and services for central vehicle computers and safety processors in next-generation architectures.
With carmakers increasingly adopting consolidated domain and zonal architectures for software-defined vehicles, the collaboration between Elektrobit and NXP aims to streamline the development process and enable faster integration of advanced features and services in production vehicles. One major OEM production vehicle project that integrates Elektrobit software and NXP S32G3 is already well underway.
