Electrosteel Castings Ltd has disclosed plans for a scheduled shutdown of its Mini Blast Furnace (MBF) production unit at the Srikalahasthi plant, starting on December 26, 2024. The maintenance work is expected to last between 10 to 12 days.
In an official statement, the company confirmed: “The MBF Production Facility at our Srikalahasthi Unit will undergo planned maintenance from December 26, 2024, for approximately 10-12 days.” The Mini Blast Furnace at the Srikalahasthi plant is responsible for producing cast iron, an essential material used across various industries, particularly in pipe manufacturing.
The shutdown is aimed at ensuring the ongoing smooth and efficient operation of the facility. While Electrosteel Castings specializes in producing ductile iron pipes and other cast iron products, the company did not clarify whether the maintenance will impact its overall production capacity or business operations.
In its latest financial report for the second quarter, Electrosteel Castings reported an 11% year-over-year decline in profits. Additionally, when compared to the previous quarter, the company saw a more significant drop, with revenue falling by 9.15% and profit decreasing by 31.32%. These figures suggest the company is facing challenges in sustaining profitability and sales growth.
