EKA Mobility, a commercial electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced a strategic partnership with Swedish furniture giant IKEA to supply electric delivery vans in India. As part of this collaboration, EKA Mobility has already delivered 10 electric vans to IKEa. It has plans to expand the fleet to various regions across the country.

This initiative aligns with IKEA’s goal to transition its last-mile delivery operations in India to electric vehicles. The shift to electric delivery vans is expected to greatly reduce IKEA’s carbon emissions, enhancing the sustainability of its logistics operations, EKA Mobility stated.

“By providing IKEA with our cutting-edge electric delivery vans, we’re not only supporting a cleaner environment but also demonstrating how electric vehicles can revolutionize the logistics industry,” said Rohit Srivastava, Chief Growth Officer at EKA Mobility.

Saiba Suri, Country Customer Fulfilment Manager at IKEA India, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation, saying, “As we expand in India with a focus on electric vehicles, IKEA is better positioned to tackle the challenges and invest in long-term, sustainable solutions.”

As IKEA ventures into new markets, the priority is to prepare for this transformation, setting the stage for the future of its supply chain, Suri added. EKA Mobility is at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution, specializing in the development of advanced electric trucks and buses. The company is committed to transforming transportation through innovative, sustainable solutions that reduce emissions and enhance operational efficiency.

EKA Mobility’s electric vehicles are designed to meet the demands of modern logistics and urban mobility, offering both environmental benefits and cost-effectiveness. By integrating cutting-edge technology with eco-friendly practices, EKA Mobility aims to drive the transition to cleaner transportation and support global efforts to combat climate change. Their focus on high-performance electric vehicles positions them as a key player in the evolving landscape of sustainable transport solutions.
