Effortless Door Mounting with EMKA’s 125° Hinge Series – No Tools Required

Installing doors and panels doesn’t have to be complicated. EMKA’s new 125° hinge series makes it quick and easy to mount or remove doors—without the need for tools. Available in a range of materials, this internal hinge is designed for surface-mounted doors and is ideal for industrial applications, specialty vehicles, and railway systems.

Conventional surface-mounted hinges can be tricky to install. The hinge pin must align perfectly with both the frame and door brackets—a process that becomes even more tedious when multiple hinges are involved. Removing the door is just as difficult, often requiring access above or below the hinge to drive the pin out. In many cases, there simply isn’t enough space. EMKA’s 125° hinge series eliminates this issue entirely.

Mounted on the inside of the frame (and thus hidden from view), the hinge can be placed on either side. To attach the door or flap, simply rest it on the plastic guide disks of the frame-side hinge and slide it horizontally. The parts click into place with a secure locking sound. No pins to move, no tools required.

The hinge’s design ensures perfect alignment automatically. A gentle push locks everything together, forming a secure connection. Removal is just as straightforward: release the latch on the door-side hinge, which stays open without needing to be held. Repeat the process on the remaining hinges, and the door can be detached easily.

The 125° hinge series was honored with the 2025 German Innovation Award for its practical design and ease of use. Judges highlighted the tool-free installation as a standout feature compared to traditional hinges. The product has also passed demanding shock and vibration tests (DIN EN 61373 Cat. 1B) and has proven its reliability in continuous operation.
