Ecolab Life Sciences has introduced a cutting-edge affinity chromatography resin designed to enhance productivity and reduce costs in antibody production. The Purolite™ AP+50 resin features 50-micron beads and delivers the highest dynamic binding capacity within the AP resin range, ensuring durable performance for capturing monoclonal antibodies.
This product benefits from Ecolab’s proprietary Jetted resin bead manufacturing process, which promotes consistency between batches and reduces delivery times. Purolite AP+50 expands the company’s established portfolio of Purolite Resins, providing biopharmaceutical firms and Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) with advanced tools to address complex purification needs.
Meeta Gulyani, senior vice president and general manager of Ecolab Bioprocessing, highlighted the resin’s ability to improve economic outcomes without compromising purity. She emphasized the growing demand among pharma and biotech companies for innovative solutions that speed up manufacturing and reduce risks. The new resin complements other recent launches such as PuroliteDurA Cycle™ A50, which offers longer resin life, and Purolite 70 CH1, aimed at purifying complex antibody fragments. Together, these products support intensified processing and help lower production costs in large-scale, late-stage manufacturing.
Ecolab will showcase Purolite AP+50 at the 2025 BIO International Convention in Boston from June 16 to 19. Visitors can find detailed information at Ecolab’s booth (#1971) and attend a technical session on June 17 at 2:40 p.m. EDT in the BPI Theatre. The announcement coincides with the opening of a new Bioprocessing Applications Lab in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, complementing the company’s UK lab and offering expanded technical support and resin development services globally.
